Re:               Salazar Chosen as Executive Director

CARTERVILLE, IL, September 19, 2019 – We are very pleased to announce that Becky Salazar will join the Egyptian Area Agency on Aging, Inc. as the Executive Director.  Ms. Salazar will begin her journey with us on November 4, 2019.

As the Executive Director, Ms. Salazar's responsibilities will include leadership and management of the agency and advocacy of older adults.  She will report to the agency's Board of Directors.

Ms. Salazar comes to us with over twenty years of experience, having served in supervisory positions for Shawnee Alliance and Southern Illinois Regional Social Services.  She has expertise in hiring, training, and supervising staff and managing multiple programs.

Ms. Salazar received a bachelor's degree in Sociology from the University of Evansville and a Master of Arts in Sociology from Northern Illinois University.

She comes to the Egyptian Area Agency on Aging, Inc. from Shawnee Alliance, a subsidiary of Shawnee Health and Social Services Development Corporation where she spent the last twelve years.

Ms. Salazar will be replacing the current Executive Director, John M. Smith, who plans to retire after nearly thirty years with the agency.  "Ms. Salazar’s experience in social work and experience as a supervisor will be invaluable in helping her meet the demands of her new position," said John Smith.
