According to the latest Social Security report of its Board of Trustees, Social Security retirement funds will remain solvent until 2035. After 2035, payroll-tax revenues will be sufficient to pay about 75 percent of the expected retiree benefit obligations.

Social Security disability funds will remain solvent until 2022. After 2022, payroll-tax revenues will be sufficient to pay about 80 percent of the expected disability benefit obligations.

Social Security's administrative costs are less than 1% of total expenditures.
